Bereavement Leave

Employees who wish to take time off due to the death of a family member should notify Ateki Management immediately.

Up to five days of paid bereavement leave for immediate family members will be provided to full-time employees. Ateki defines "immediate family" as the employee's spouse, parent, child, or sibling; the employee's spouse's parent, child, or sibling; the employee's child's spouse; grandparents or grandchildren.

Up to two days of paid bereavement leave will be provided if an employee wishes to attend funeral services for an aunt, uncle, nephew, niece, or cousin.

Bereavement pay is calculated based on the base pay rate at the time of absence and will not include any special forms of compensation, such as incentives, commissions, bonuses, or shift differentials. Bereavement leave will normally be granted unless there are unusual business needs or staffing requirements. Employees may, with their manager's approval, use any available paid leave for additional time as necessary.
