Family and Medical Leave
According to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Ateki will grant employees, who have completed at least one year of service and have worked at least 1,250 hours in the previous twelve months, up to twelve weeks of unpaid leave within a twelve month period for: adoption or a birth in the family, to care for a seriously ill child, parent, or spouse, or an illness that prevents you from working. FMLA leave will be unpaid after applicable paid time has been used.
If you qualify for FMLA, you must provide 30 days notice to Ateki for foreseeable leaves such as a birth in the family, adoption, or planned medical treatment. Taking an approved Family and Medical Leave will not affect your seniority status.
Upon your return from leave, Ateki will restore you to the same position or an equivalent position, or otherwise treat you as required by the FMLA.
