Sick Leave

Sick leave with pay is available for eligible employees. Employees are allowed 5 days of paid sick leave. Beginning January 1 of the following year, the employee carries forward any unused sick leave and is allowed 5 additional days until a maximum accumulation of 10 paid sick days. All full-time employees are eligible for this benefit

Employees who are unable to report to work due to illness or injury should notify Ateki Management at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled start of their workday if possible. Ateki Management must also be contacted on each additional day of absence. If an employee is absent for three or more consecutive days due to illness or injury, a physician's statement may be requested to verify the illness or injury and its beginning and expected ending dates. Such verification may be requested for other sick leave absences as well and may be required as a condition to receiving sick time benefits.

Sick time benefits will be calculated based on the employee's base pay rate at the time of absence and will not include any special forms of compensation, such as incentives, commissions, bonuses, or shift differentials.

Sick time benefits are intended solely to provide income protection in the event of illness or injury, and may not be used for any other absence. In case of resignation or termination, no unused sick time will be paid to employees.
